Stakeholders Strategic Conversation on Migrant Workers’ Franchise Rights
— April 13, 2021Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA), together with the Asia Democracy Network (ADN) and the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) are jointly organizing a Stakeholders Strategic Conversation on Migrant Workers’ Franchise Rights. The session will be held on 22 April 2021 (Thursday) 2:00PM-4:00PM Manila.
The dialogue will look at challenges, gaps, and barriers that prevent migrant workers from exercising their right to participation and inclusion in countries of destination, particularly on franchise rights and political participation. It will also determine how existing laws and policies can further be improved to empower migrants and ensure that their rights as overseas voters are guaranteed.
We will be joined by the following speakers:
- Ellene Sana, Executive Director, Center for Migrant Advocacy (CMA), Philippines
- Wahyu Susilo, Executive Director, Migrant Care, Indonesia
- Gopal Sivakoti, Senior International Election Observer, Asia Network for Free Elections (ANFREL)
