Regional Workshop on Protecting and Promoting Migrant Workers’ Rights

International labour migration has been tremendously increasing during the last couple of decades as a consequence of globalisation. Ten of millions of men and women cross borders in search of livelihood in the hope of making a better living. United Nations estimates that as many as 191 million migrant workers and their families are residing in countries other than their own. Asia and the Pacific account for more than 50 million.

About Us

MFA is a regional network of non-government organizations (NGOs), associations and trade unions of migrant workers, and individual advocates in Asia who are committed to protect and promote the rights and welfare of migrant workers.

It is guided by a vision of an alternative world system based on respect for human rights and dignity, social justice, and gender equity, particularly for migrant workers.
