Voices from the South
— May 20, 2026The Voices from the South Initiative is organized by Migrant Forum in Asia and the Global Migrant Workers Network to unite the voices of migrant workers, community organizers, and activists from Asia and Africa. It seeks to amplify their aspirations, hopes, and demands in global spaces where they are often underrepresented due to barriers such as restrictive visa regimes, limited mobility, and participation constraints. The Voices from the South publication is a compilation of poetry, stories, letters, and visual art prepared by migrants, activists and community organizers.
Despite these challenges, these individuals continue to assert their presence and agency by sharing their stories and visions through letters, songs, poems, and other artistic expressions. These works reflect the lived realities of migrant workers and illustrate what more inclusive, rights-based spaces should look like.
