List of MFA Policy Briefs
— July 24, 2012The MFA network produced
policy briefs which resulted from discussions and consultations about pressing issues quickly developing in the region:
- Standardised Employment Contract for Migrant Domestic Workers
- Reform of the Kafala (Sponsorship) System
- A Reference Wage for Domestic Workers
- Detention of undocumented migrants in Asia
- Stranded migrants
- Right to Health
- Social Protection
- Role of Missions
- Shelters
- Bilateral Agreements
- Joint and Several Liability
These policy briefs are meant to:
- Act as valuable communication tools to present MFA’s position and recommendations on diverse issues related to protecting and promoting the rights of all migrant workers;
- Advance the thematic national and international advocacy of the MFA network by providing a coherent message from the social movement; and
- Contribute to capacity building by providing a brief, readable document to use during consultations, trainings, lobbying and other related activities.
MFA looks forward to implementing and improving the policy briefs overtime through the processes of consultations within and outside the network. Ideas for further thematic areas are also welcomed. Email the MFA Secretariat at mfa@mfasia.org
