Circular 31: Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration

Dear Friends,

Hope all goes well.

This is to update you that the government of Bangladesh has sent out a save the date and an invitation to the Regional Consultation on GCM implementation on 03-04 May 2019 at the Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The consultation aims at providing a platform to discuss the modalities, organizational aspects, implementation of the GCM outcome and operationalization of the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) with particular focus on development of a comprehensive regional action plan. It also aims to bring together various government and non-government actors within the region to further deliberate and forge ways for successful implementation of the GCM for every stakeholder.

Government representatives from South Asian and Southeast Asian countries, representative from development partners, international organizations, civil society, academia, researchers and other relevant stakeholders have been invited to participate in the event.

This was sent during the holidays thus, we are only able to share it now. We understand this is quite a late notice as it is a week away but if you or your organization has plans to be in Dhaka and attend the consultation meeting please do let us know in order to have a more consolidated civil society.
