“Crying Out for Justice: Wage Theft Against Migrant Workers During COVID-19”

Launch of Analysis Report: “Crying Out for Justice: Wage Theft Against Migrant Workers During COVID-19”

Upon the launch of the Justice for Wage Theft campaign in June 2020, Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA), together with our members and partners, started actively documenting cases of wage theft experienced by migrant workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The documentation process aims to provide evidence on the gravity of the issue as well as to strengthen our evidence-based advocacy around the issue of wage theft.

From the period of June to December 2020, we were able to file 700 cases in our online documentation system. These cases consist of both individual and group cases, amounting to approximately 1000+ cases of wage theft experienced by migrant workers at the height of the global pandemic in the region.

In this regard, we have come out with an analysis of these cases in our report, “Crying Out for Justice: Wage Theft Against Migrant Workers During COVID-19”. We would like to invite you to the launch of the analysis report on 07 April 2021 (Wednesday) at 8:00PM-9:30PM Manila time (GMT+8).

Thank you and we hope to see you at the event next week.
