For domestic workers and advocates,\u00a0it was a momentous and victorious event because ILO<br \/>\nMember States fi nally approved in principle to adopt a\u00a0comprehensive standard for domestic workers in the form of<br \/>\na Convention supplemented by a Recommendation. At the\u00a0end of the Conference, it was resolved that an item entitled\u00a0\u201cDecent Work for Domestic Workers\u201d shall be included in the\u00a0agenda of its next ordinary session for second discussion in\u00a0June 2011 where the fi nal decision will be made.<\/p>\n<p>The ILC had a seven-point agenda divided into two\u00a0categories: (1) standing items and (2) items placed on\u00a0the agenda by the Conference or the Governing Body.\u00a0The Decent Work for Domestic Workers (standard setting\u00a0with a view to the possible adoption of a Convention\u00a0supplemented by a Recommendation) was tabled under\u00a0Item IV with the Committee on Domestic Work put in charge\u00a0of the discussions.<\/p>\n<p>Download the full report below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mfasia.org\/migrantforumasia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/paper5.pdf\" rel=\"\">Paper 5 ILO Report: Highlights of the 2010 International Labour Conference and the ILO Brown Report <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 99th Session of the International Labour Conference\u00a0(ILC) was successfully held from 2 to 18 June 2010 in Geneva, Switzerland.
