However, from the perspective of civil society organizations and migrant rights advocates, particularly in the Global South, this narrative obscures a much harsher reality. What governments and international institutions frame as &#8220;managed migration&#8221; often translates into systems of controlled exploitation, where migrants&#8217; rights remain secondary to economic interests and border control agendas (Migrant Forum in Asia, 2022).
