At the 99th Session of the International Labour Conference\u00a0(ILC) of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the\u00a0ILO agreed to include a second discussion in the agenda\u00a0of its next ordinary session in June 2011. The ILC adopted\u00a0in principle a comprehensive instrument (a Convention\u00a0supplemented by a Recommendation) for domestic
\nworkers.<\/p>\n
Following the ILC deliberations, a Third Report (Brown\u00a0Report) was released by the ILO Offi ce which contains the
\ntext of the Proposed Convention and Recommendation.\u00a0The Brown Report is based on the fi rst discussion and the
\nOffi ce Commentary that explains the drafting changes,\u00a0seeks comments in connection with certain provisions and
\nmakes suggestions for alternative text. In March 2011, the\u00a0ILO released the 4th Report (Blue Report), published in two\u00a0volumes, which contains feedback on the Brown Report from\u00a0Member States as well as employers and trade unions and\u00a0a proposed text for the Convention and Recommendation.<\/p>\n
This Report will be the basis for discussion at the 100th\u00a0Session of the ILC on 1-17 June 2011 under the item entitled
\n\u201cDecent Work for Domestic Workers\u201d.<\/p>\n
