In the past month, issues affecting migrant domestic workers have received attention locally and internationally. An Al Jazeera news report revealed that some agencies are ‘displaying’ domestic workers at shopping centres and using inappropriate language to market the services of domestic workers.

It has also been reported in the local media that employment agency fees have increased and some agencies are engaging in a ‘price war’ with many domestic workers bearing most of the costs. What are the implications of these issues for domestic workers in Singapore? What can we do to tackle these problems?

Join us for a dialogue with representatives from the Association of Employment Agencies Singapore and embassy representatives from the sending countries.
