Justice for Wage Theft: The Role of NHRIs in the Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers

MFA in collaboration with the National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) of the Philippines, Nepal, and Maldives is organizing an webinar titled “Justice for Wage Theft: The Role of NHRIs in the Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers”. The webinar will be held on 17 December 2020 (Thursday) at 4:00PM – 5:30PM (Manila).

The webinar will aim to look at how NHRIs have taken up the issue of wage theft that has been exacerbated by the pandemic. In addition, the session aims to discuss how NHRIs plan to take up the issue moving forward.

We will be joined by the following panelists:

Commissioner Gwendolyn Pimental-Gana, Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Philippines

Mr. Kamal Thapa Kshetri, Officiating Chief of International Relation Division and Migrant Focal Person, Nepal

Ms Moomina Waheed,  Commissioner for the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives

The webinar will be moderated by Mr. William Gois, Regional Coordinator, Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA).
