Council of Labor Affairs to tighten rules on hiring foreign workers
— October 25, 2007TAIPEI, Taiwan, Province of China — The Council of Labor Affairs (CLA) promised yesterday it would enforce tighter control measures to ensure that foreign workers have been legally hired.
The issue was raised after legislators complained that local celebrities spoke on broadcast television shows about having foreign domestic workers walk their dogs and perform other tasks that are not allowed under the Employment Service Act.
