20 years of the Migrant Workers’ Convention: Reclaim the Promise…Ratify the Convention!

As had been the tradition for some years now, Migrant Forum in Asia celebrates Migrants’ Campaign Month (MCM), building up to the observance of the International Migrants’ Day on December 18.  MCM begins on 25 November, the International Day to End Violence Against Women.

Acknowledging the significance of 2010 as the 20th year anniversary of the adoption of the UN Migrant Workers’ Convention (18 December 1990), MFA marks this year’s MCM with the theme:  “Reclaim the Promise…Ratify the Convention!”  Different activities have been lined up by member organizations, both individually and in collaboration with other MFA members in the country, e.g. MFA Nepal activities.  (Click here for MCM Calendar)

Please find below some of the activities that have been planned by MFA members in their respective countries.  (Right click for larger image.)
